Aiya!
Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things... and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths. -- Walt Disney
I'm a bit of a modern gypsy to an extent - I've moved quite a bit over the past six years, and this past year or so I've moved from SLC, UT to Berwick, PA to Austin, TX to Derry, NH to Berwick again out to Oakland, CA for a while but my job there proved entirely too unstable, so I'm back in Berwick...again.
I grew up mostly in Salt Lake City, UT. I hung out in the gothic subculture there (Confetti's, Caffiends, Mechenized, Beans and Brew, Area 51, Sanctuary, Denny's and Dee's), along with the role playing community (Adventure Quest, LORE, Camarilla, Purple Midnight).
I began the path of Paganaism when I was about 13 years old, and continue to study many different forms of this path. I've been termed an eclectic pagan and a nocturnal witch - either works really.
I'm one of those rare beings known as a female gamer - I play table top and live action RPGs, enjoy a night of PS2 relaxation and play several MMO games.
I've also been called a geek chic because I can build computers and use virtually any software set in front of me, so long as its not something to do with massive amounts of programming code. I'm a bit sci-fi/fantasy fan - my PC has airbrushed Star Wars graphics on it, with random fantasy stickers over it as well. About one of the only reasons I had cable was for the Sci-Fi Channel and the Anime on Adult Swim.
Been into computers and the internet since I was a kid, taking them up to the level of obsession around the age of 14. I've taught myself a smattering of HTML and CSS, hung out in online communities and newsgroups, and settled well into the MMO role player community.
I'm pretty isolated here in Berwick. The town is small, with pretty much not a lot of things in it, and the people who live here are so...normal and plain I'm clearly outta place instantly.
I'm really into 3d artwork and rendering, to the extent of going to school and becoming an almost classical example of a starving artist - I can barely pay my bills and school and get a few supplies every month. I realise that its a good thing I got into art like this late in life...I'd have gone broke and lost it trying to work a full time job like I used to AND go to school. You can find my artwork at
deviantART just like most artists...
On the art front, I've started using the platform Second Life to learn even more about digital artistry. Several of my friends are successful builders and shop owners in SL, and the more "usable" three dimensional work is making the entire artform over all make more sense. While I am still horrible at texturing, I've a friend pushing me to broaden my experiences with it by letting me texture not only my own experiments but try texturing little bits of the gorgeous sim too.
